Low Income Limited Shoppers

Primarily retired (65), usually with a limited education (high school or less) but could be a student. Low income ($26k) households of one individual located in urban areas of the Northeast & Southern US. They shop every 4 days and spend on average $37 per shopping trip. Interest is in general merchandise stores such as Kroger’s & Super Walmart, with additional interest in online purchases and TV home-shopping options. Purchase interests include every-day necessities such as dairy, eggs and baked goods. Additional interests are in snack foods, especially chocolate and carbonated beverages. There also is interest in bread making machines, interest in southern cooking such as cracklin & ham patties, interest in alcoholic beverages, especially gin and malt liquor, and interest in cigarettes and cigars.
